My aim with this project was to improve my animation skills in the area of clothing simulation and character rigging. I used my cloth files from a project I created for a design system for my university project.

I had to overcome a lot of challenges with this animation such as rigging issues, cloth simulation with animation, optimising large scenes with lower computing power and making use of a render farm server.

I am happy with the outcome of this project. The aim was to create a realistic animation to showcase garments made in CLO3D and work on more cinematic shots for short form videos.

This project was developed to refine the studio’s skills in clothing simulation and character rigging. Using garments originally designed for a university project, DUPPY Studio focused on creating a realistic animation that highlights digital fashion in motion.

The process involved overcoming technical challenges including rigging, cloth simulation, and scene optimisation with limited computing power, supported by the use of a render farm server. The result is a cinematic short that showcases garments made in CLO3D through expressive, dynamic animation.

In this animation, I wanted to create some content for social media to showcase the garment alongside some shoes I modelled digitally. This was a quick and easy animation to add to the campaign of the clothing I had already created.

Here I explored using a particle system to give a sci-fi feel to the scene and used volume to add mist. I gave the scene a surreal cave feel to add to the visual identity of the clothing whilst following the colour scheme.

The animation plays as a seamless loop composited in blender and after effects.

This short animation was created as part of a social media campaign to showcase the digital garment and a pair of 3D-modelled shoes. The aim was to expand the visual identity of the collection with quick, impactful motion content.

DUPPY Studio explored particle systems and volumetric effects to build a sci-fi atmosphere, giving the scene a surreal cave aesthetic that complements the clothing’s colour palette. The final looped animation was composited in Blender and After Effects, designed for seamless playback across digital platforms.

This project ran alongside the studio’s academic work and focused on advancing 3D and animation skills through hands-on experimentation. It involved modelling, environment design, character rigging, and animation, all brought together through rendering in Blender and compositing in After Effects.

The main challenge was managing complex scenes with limited hardware, which led to the use of a render farm with 28 nodes. This experience strengthened technical efficiency and reinforced the studio’s ability to manage high-quality outputs under real production conditions.
